Degree program entrance requirements

Current S&T Advising Center students may apply to transfer to a degree program listed below, provided the conditions for each program have been met.

aerospace engineering

  1. ≥ 2.50 cumulative and UM cumulative GPA
  2. ≥ 2.25 cumulative GPA for Math and Science
    • This includes all math and science courses completed at time of application and all grades for any repeated courses (with no GPA adjustment for the grade replacement policy)
  3. Must have a C or better in Math 1214, Math 1215, Phys 1135, and Chem 1310
  4. Must not be on probation or deficiency

architectural engineering

  1. Complete all Foundational Experience and Advising courses 
  2. ≥ 2.50 cumulative and UM cumulative GPA
  3. Must have a C or better in Math 1214, 1215, Phys 1135, and Chem 1310
  4. Must have a C or better in Physics 1135 to graduate
  5. Must not be on probation or deficiency

biological sciences

  1. Minimum 2.0 GPA
  2. Good academic standing (i.e. not on probation or academic deficiency)

business and management systems

  1. Minimum 2.5 GPA (except in special circumstances)
  2. Good academic standing (i.e. not on probation or academic deficiency)

ceramic engineering

  1. Complete all Foundational Experience and Advising courses, but 1 Humanities and Social Sciences course
  2. ≥ 2.25 cumulative and UM cumulative GPA
  3. Must have a C or better in Math 1214, 1215, Chem 1310 and Physics 1135
  4. Must have a B or better in Cer Eng 2210 
  5. Must not be on probation or deficiency

chemical engineering

  1. Complete all Foundational Experience and Advising courses
  2. ≥ 2.50 cumulative GPA
  3. Must have C or better in Chem 1310/1319/1320, Physics 1135, Math 1214/1215

chemistry

  1. Minimum 2.5 GPA (except in special circumstances)
  2. Eligible to enroll in Calc I or higher (i.e. all algebra and trigonometry requirements are fulfilled with C or better)

civil engineering

  1. Complete all Foundational Experience and Advising courses
  2. ≥ 2.50 cumulative and UM cumulative GPA
  3. Must have a C or better in Math 1214, 1215, and Physics 1135
  4. Must have a C or better in Physics 1135 to graduate

computer engineering

Education

  • As a transfer, a student can begin taking classes in this program and work their way up to the professional requirements below. A 2.0 GPA is preferred, but students may start classes on a provisional basis (as long as they make improvements). Students must also be accepted into their content degree program.
  • Being admitted to the Education emphasis is considered "Professional Standing" and includes:
  1. 60 credit hours completed
  2. 2.75 cumulative GPA
  3. 3.0 content GPA
  4. 3.0 professional requirements GPA (EDUC)
  5. Professional interview
  6. Completed disposition for teaching
  7. Cleared Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) background check
  8. Passed all four sections of the Missouri General Education Assessment (MoGEA)
  9. "C" or higher in ENG 1120, ENG 1160, Speech 1185, College Algebra or higher, EDUC 1040 and EDUC 1174
