As a transfer, a student can begin taking classes in this program and work their way up to the professional requirements below. A 2.0 GPA is preferred, but students may start classes on a provisional basis (as long as they make improvements). Students must also be accepted into their content degree program.
Being admitted to the Education emphasis is considered "Professional Standing" and includes:
60 credit hours completed
2.75 cumulative GPA
3.0 content GPA
3.0 professional requirements GPA (EDUC)
Professional interview
Completed disposition for teaching
Cleared Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) background check
Passed all four sections of the Missouri General Education Assessment (MoGEA)
"C" or higher in ENG 1120, ENG 1160, Speech 1185, College Algebra or higher, EDUC 1040 and EDUC 1174
