On-Track

Do you want to apply to be an On-Track Mentor?

Please download the following application: On-track Mentor Application

All instructions and necessary information are contained within. Applications are due by 8:00am on Monday, November 23rd. This is a student position for the Spring 2010 semester. E-mail any questions to ontrack@mst.edu.

What is On-Track?

On-Track is a program designed to help students get motivated, learn time management and study skills, and focus on other common problems. The program has been entirely redesigned for Fall 2009 by students to be much more fun and interactive. You will be grouped with an On-Track peer mentor who will be able to help you address problems specific to you and your situation. You should also be able to make lots friends and connections that will help you to use your time doing homework and studying more effectively.

What is the format of On-Track?
On-Track will be unlike it was in previous semesters. The format will be streamlined for a higher quality program. There will be hour-long lunch seminars led by student mentors on a weekly basis. Additionally, you will have brief one-on-one meetings with a mentor bi-weekly. There will be various study sessions and additional activities you can participate in, and while these are not mandatory, they will be extremely helpful.

Time Commitment?
Required On-Track activities on average won’t take you much more than an hour a week, but there will be many more chances to get with groups of On-Track students and the mentors to work together. If On-Track works for you it should actually decrease the amount of time you need to spend working on homework and studying.
